As autograph dealer Gary Zimet states, \u201cThe album is the most extraordinary artifact in rock and roll history. It has Lennon\u2019s signature on the cover and Chapman\u2019s forensically enhanced finger prints on the sleeve. [And] there are evidence markings from the NYPD.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The record is expected to sell for $850,000, which injects some controversy into the story. On the one hand, there\u2019s no denying the historical significance and symbolic nature of Chapman\u2019s autographed record, but on the other, someone is directly profiting from Lennon\u2019s death, which has some Lennon\/Beatles fans beyond upset. (Zimet went on to say that the seller has asked to remain anonymous for fear of death threats.)<\/p>\n<p>We ask you: Would you buy the autographed LP if you had the money, or does the thought of paying for something that once belonged to the man who killed one of music\u2019s legends disturb or anger you?
