Excerpt<br \/>\n<\/strong>Derek Davis: We have 14 songs total on the new release, all taken from our live\u00a0show sets. Of course we have the hits, Hammer Swings Down, Kid Goes\u00a0Wild, Bang Go The Bells from our debut release, also Bad Blood from the\u00a0\u201cNothing Sacred\u201d album and songs from \u201cAmerican Blitzkrieg\u201d, \u201cThe Lost\u00a0Sessions\u201d and our last album \u201cRevelation Highway\u201dare included.\u00a0We had three shows to choose songs from that were mobile unit recordings. But most of the\u00a0songs were taken from one show at Swiss Park Concert Hall In Newark CA .They seemed to sound the\u00a0most together.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ROXX GANG Excerpt<br \/>\n<\/strong>Kevin Steele: Well, on our first album \u201cThings You\u2019ve Never Done Before\u201d, the lyrics and melodies were mine but I didn\u2019t\u00a0play a large role in the music. I had always wanted a bluesy, hard rock band in the vein of Aerosmith but with\u00a0a guitar player like Wade Hayes (who was one of the greatest but most overlooked guitarists of that era in my\u00a0opinion) a lot of my songs like \u201cBall n\u2019 Chain\u201d &amp; \u201cRed Rose\u201d got pulled into more of a Metal vibe. There was\u00a0also \u201cLive Fast Die Young\u201d which although a good song, I wasn\u2019t entirely comfortable with. On \u201cThe Voodoo\u00a0You Love\u201d I was maturing as a songwriter and contributing more to the music and you can hear it in the\u00a0direction we took. It was the first time saxophone and honky tonk piano were used and the first time I played\u00a0harmonica on a Roxx Gang record. One thing most people don\u2019t know is that with the exception of \u201cTime\u00a0Bomb\u201d and \u201cThick As Thieves\u201d all the songs on \u201cThe Voodoo You Love\u201d were performed by the original Roxx\u00a0Gang line up.
