It is always so hard to pick my top albums of the year, but here is my list of the top 10 albums from 2011. I still pick entire album releases and not just a song.
- Angels & Airwaves – Love Part Two
- Lenny Kravitz – Black and White America
- Fitz & The Tantrums – Pickin’ Up The Pieces
- Uriah Heep – Into The Wild
- George Thorogood – 2120 South Michigan Ave
- House of Lords – Big Money
- Dream Theater – A Dramatic Turn of Events
- Night Ranger – Somewhere In California
- Social Distortion – Hard Times and Nursery Ryhmes
- Electric Boys – And Them Boys Done Swang
Here is my list of top music discoveries in 2011. These are old releases I first discovered this year or new bands that got me excited in 2011.
- Edgar Winter Group – They Only Come Out At Night
- Simon & Garfunkel – Bridge Over Troubled Water
- 7th Heaven – band out of Chicago
- City Boy – 70’s band from the UK, similar to Electric Light Orchestra
- Neil Cribbs – saw him at a showcase performance and fell in love with his folk music
- The Silver Comet – again, saw them at a showcase performance, their show just grabbed me
I always like to read these “Best of” lists at the end of the year. Thanks for sharing your list Michael as I now have a few new albums to check out that I missed along the way. Keep up the great work and here’s to a great 2012!!

I too discovered Neil Cribbs this year and love his music! I recently saw him live in Greensboro, NC and bought both of his albums. You can hear is soul in his songs, he is amazing!
Yeah I saw a short showcase performance in Atlanta and it really grabbed me.
