This has to be the most topical episode I have seen of this podcast!
Newsjacking baby! LOL Right time, right place, jump all over the story.
This is the link to Facebook name change for a band: https://www.facebook.com/help/contact_us.php?id=262629790471076
I have two friends who wanted to change their names recently and I sent them the links as soon as I found they can do that now. One has over 1700 likes, and added some stupid shit after the name of the band, which he wanted to remove. The other also wanted to remove a part of his name, because he foolishly included something he doesn’t really want there.
The first friend is from UK, and he successfully and pretty quickly changed his band name to the desired one.
The other one is from Bulgaria. His band name, however, was not changed by Facebook. This is what he received in his inbox as a reply:
“Unfortunately, we do not support Page name change requests in your language at this time. We are working hard to start supporting this issue. We apologize for any inconvenience.”
Obviously, this works only for some selected territories and not everywhere. My guess is that this will be no problem for USA users though.
Thanks for sharing Emil.
I know of someone who will be extremely excited about the name change thing. I am sending him the link right now.
