PJ Bloom and Tess Taylor at NARIPI just attended my first NARIP event in San Francisco, Music Supervisor Session with PJ Bloom. It was a packed room with people either directly pitching PJ or learning about pitching to a music supervisor. This is one area of the music business I have not had much exposure to, and I was literally on the edge of my seat listening to PJ discuss and critique the various pitches. So much to great stuff was discussed.

NARIP for those not familiar is the National Association of Record Industry Professionals. From their mission statement, The National Association of Record Industry Professionals (NARIP) promotes education, career advancement and good will among record executives. With an emphasis on becoming better informed and more effective, NARIP offers professional development opportunities, educational programs and seminars, the opportunity to meet and interact with peers, a job bank, a member resume database for employers, a mentor network, a newsletter and other services.

I am also excited to announce that I, along with Hisham Dahud, will be presenting How To Use Social Media To Promote Music: Get A Digital Strategy In Just One Session on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at the San Francisco NARIP meeting. More details soon.

Take a look at NARIP if you are interested in furthering your network and knowledge. I am already impressed after one meeting.
