I am providing a Marketing Advisory role for Artisthead.com and will be providing them with occasional blogs. My first blog for them is live.

A few weeks ago I came across a e-commerce app called CommerceSocial. I was immediately hit with how ideal this app is for bands and record labels. Everyone in music is looking for new ways to sell their music and new ways to generate revenue. It should be obvious to everyone that Facebook is where your fans are hanging out. You need to to be there engaging with them. I will discuss how to engage with them in a future post. Now I want to talk about how you can sell to them, on Facebook.
I have been doing some research and most bands who have a Shop tab on their Facebook page are just linking fans back to their official online store. This is the old concept of a single online store that you try and place links throughout the internet to lead your fans back to the store to buy. I have spent many years working inside this model, managing monthly affiliate sales in excess of a quarter million dollars. CommerceSocial changes this whole concept. Now you can put a online store wherever your fans are hanging out; Facebook, MySpace, fan sites, blogs, anywhere. You don’t have to battle with the challenge of getting someone to click a link and then flow through a conversion funnel on your online store.
