When launched in the near future, Radical Indie will be a free, worldwide, full-featured, internet radio service for musicians, their fans, and anyone who enjoys fresh music from unsigned artists, without limitations. It also includes the ability to RadCast™ music streams in real time to any number of listeners. In addition, DeeJay™ will allow musicians to host their own programs and speak directly to all who are listening to their RadCasts. Music in Radical Indie will be accessible anywhere in the world through any web browser; development for mobile devices is underway. Musicians, bands, and their official representatives can sign up and upload their music today at RadicalIndie.com.

“We want to give independent musicians a creative and promotional platform, and are thrilled that we can offer a powerful tool on a world-wide basis for free,” said Radical Founder and CEO, Thomas McAlevey. “Radical Indie will be similar to our conventional service, Radical.FM, but with no music label imposed restrictions on territory or functionality. Outside of purchasing your own major market FM radio station, the live interaction and broadcast exposure Radical makes possible for independent musicians has never been available before.”

About Radical Indie

Indie is short for Independent. Ranging from individuals to major acts like Nine Inch Nails, Indie Artists are musicians not signed with the Big Four or their subsidiaries. Often non-conformist, always creative, theirs is a world of music not optimally suited to mainstream services like Radical.FM or Pandora.

The Radical Indie Player will offer full, unlimited play-on-demand functionality free of charge. Both artists and users can create personal playlists choosing from all the music that independent musicians and bands have uploaded into the service. RadCast makes every musician the owner of a broadcast radio station, complete with independent content. Musicians will be able to have their fans listen to their music stream in real time. A DeeJay function will allow hosts to speak live to their audience, where they can discuss not only their music, but also conduct interviews, promote tours, etc. Users will be able to RadCast and Deejay their own music streams as well.

Besides being able to upload their music, artists may include related images, lyrics, links to purchase music and merchandise, band bios, etc.

Users only need to sign up once to have access to both Radical Indie and Radical.FM.
