Google+ is growing daily, they expect 20 million users by the end of the month. If you are new to Google+ here are two tips that will help you to get added to Circles. These tips actually would apply just fine to any social network you are one.
1. Add a Photo – Once you create your profile be sure you add a profile photo immediately. You will not be taken seriously if you do not have a photo. I strongly suggest using a real photo of you as well. Unless I know someone personally, I am not adding anyone to one of my Circles if they don’t have a photo.
2. Complete the About Page – Make sure you fill in some information on your About page. When you add someone to your Circles and do not know them they are going to look at your profile to decide if they should add you to their Circles. If you have no information on your About page how could you expect anyone to add you to a Circle. Don’t add some silly quote, add some real information on who you are and why you should be added to a Circle. What you do for a living, where you have worked, etc.
Your goal is to be added to other users Circles. They need to know who you are if they are going to do that. Take a couple minutes to complete some basic information before you go out and start adding people to your Circles.

Great post, Michael! I agree. There is no point to this if you don’t post a photo and complete the About section. Same goes for Twitter. People are not going to be interested in you if there is no info about you.
There’s a 3rd point : add some useful info to the “employment” part of the profile, so that your hovered thumbnail tells a little bit about what you do…
You can put any kind of info in this area, being descriptive or fun, but should reflect who you are.
Sincerely
DJM
Another tip — create a circle for people you don’t know. Your circle names are private, so no one knows. This enables you to accept all incoming requests — but gives you the freedom to never have to read them if you don’t want to. You never know when accepting someone into a circle means you’re getting read by them even if you don’t intend to read their updates.
Great tip, thanks for sharing!
