Too many bands send out emails with only show announcements or release details, very impersonal content. Just like your interaction on Facebook and Twitter, your email blasts should be personal, they should allow your fans to get to know you on a personal level.

Take a look at this recent email I received from Ali Handal. It’s content was all about how her cat recently passed away. She talked about how long she had her cat, how it meant so much to her, how she spent the last day with her cat. Ali immediately hooked me on a personal level. I now know Ali as a person, not some musician.
